This is the screen that is generated when using the Program Performance tool.
I pulled this report for 1 week of race results at PHA in January of 2007 using
Thorostats sheets right out of the box.
Look at the win% of Power rating using our top selection. Only 17% wins which
tells me that a longshot or two hit the board and inflated our results. I do see
that 82% of the time one our top 4 selections in connections wins. Even more
interesting to note that boxing our top 4 power rated horses in the exacta is
hitting 47% of the time and a whopping 121% return.
After looking at those stats I would be more inclined to boxing the top 4 power
horses in an exacta or narrowing my choices to win from the top 4 connection
horses.
For now lets go over the the headers from the above picture so that all will
understand this generated report.
Rating- this grid listed vertically, shows Class, Pace, Connections and Power
along with the type of bet.
Races- The number of races used to calculate this report.
Winners- The number of winners we had.
Win%- The win percentages
Avg$won- This is the avg dollar returned to us.
Won- Amount of money won.
Cost- What did it cost us to have made this wager?
Profit- Amount of your return after investment return
ROI-Our return on investment. The bottom line!
When you calculate the report please remember that if we say top 2, then we
wagered on both horses and the stats reflect the $4.00 wager. Same with top3
a $6.00 wager and top4 $8.00. Exactas are calculated as a $2.00 box.
