Current filter options for the HOOF are numbered and listed above. These options
will affect the overall total of your reports depending on your selection criteria.
1- These 3 categories of Form, Class and Speed/Pace contain 30-35 factors in each title.
Currently there are 95 different factors total in our Hoof report. An explanation of these factors
are explained in the later sections of this documentation. You as the user have the ability to
select which of the 3 categories you would like to use in your handicapping reports.
2- The Analysis Filter will allow you to track statistics on Win, Win/Place, Win/Place/Show and
ROI. As an example of what this filter does, setup the analysis filter to look at
Win/Place/Show. Assume your "threshold" is set at 70%. We now search the selected
date range for horse(s) who were entered in past races at today's track who qualified
for a particular factor. Next we look at horse(s) who were qualified in those races
and if the horse showed (placed 3rd) 70% or more of the time we search today's
entries for any qualifiers and if found, we display this factor data in the Hoof report
for the horse who qualified in today's race.
3- Here you simply set the date range for the search. This date range only searches the
particular track you are playing today for qualifying data according to you filter setup.
4- Threshold setting will control whether or not the factor will be displayed on the Hoof
report. If you set the Hoof to display Win data on report and the Threshold setting
at 50%, your "factor" MUST have Won 50% or more of past races searched within
selected date range at today's track. If horse(s) running today won past races 50% or
more of the time in selected date range this will constitute the factor being displayed
on the Hoof report under the horse's name.
The number you set here will strongly determine whether or not the factor may be listed
in the Hoof report. For instance if you set the Threshold filter to 0% most all factors
may be displayed on the Hoof report due to no restrictions or limitations.
5- The value set here will determine the points that will be added to Thorostats original
report. If you have a horse who qualifies for 20 factors total in all 3 categories of Form,
Class and Speed/Pace and the report value set at 5 then 20(factors)x 5 (Value)=100
100 points will be added to Thorostats original report "Power number". If your horses
original power number were 150 then the new power number with Hoof calculated in
would be 150x100=250 as the new power number.
Your adjusted odds in a report may change depending on the probability
percentages changing. We have installed a new Adj Odds algorithm with an improved
odds line that will make these changes seamlessly for you.
If you prefer not to add the Hoof report to our original handicapping reports
then you should set this value to Zero. This will generate your report without
adding any Hoof values.
6- As the user you may change filter settings from race to race or track to track. If you
select a particular set of filters and click on the "Save as Default" button, then your
current Hoof settings will be saved until you change the settings and reselect the
"Save as Default" button.
Selecting new filters without clicking the "Save as Default" button and running the report
will allow you to handicap a race with the new filters but will not change the filters for
other upcoming races where you decide you want the default settings to remain the same.
Now that you have setup your Hoof filters select the track and race and click the go button.
Your report will being processing. Normal processing time may take 10-15 secs per race
due to the huge amounts of information the report has to access.
